Watermill of Agios Germanos

Built in 1930, the traditional watermill of Agios Germanos is the only one of the twenty historic watermills of Prespa that has been completely restored and survives to this day. The ground-floor stone building with a wooden roof used to serve a triple function: it was a mill for grain grinding, a water-powered washhouse for washing textiles, and a fulling mill for the felting and thickening of woven fabrics. Today, it operates as a visitable monument, offering a vivid image of the rural life of the past and of an era when water powered human labor and everyday life.
