How to reach Western Macedonia

Western Macedonia is closer than you might imagine. You can easily reach it by road via the A2 Motorway (Egnatia Odos) and its vertical axes, which connect the region with Northern, Central, and Southern Greece. Access has become even faster thanks to the E65 and the A5 Motorway (Ionia Odos), which significantly facilitate traveling both from Athens and Eastern Greece, as well as from the westernmost parts of the country.

If you prefer to travel by air, there are flights from Athens to the airports of Kozani and Kastoria, while Florina is connected by railway to major urban centers all across Greece. For international arrivals, you can choose Thessaloniki International Airport “Makedonia”, which is located within a relatively short driving distance from key destinations of Western Macedonia.
