Panhellenic Mushroom Festival
Every year since 2003, Grevena has been inviting you to experience the leading mushroom festival in Greece. The event attracts thousands of visitors from across the country and abroad —Cyprus, the Balkans, Europe, America and Australia— and offers you the opportunity to discover the magical world of mushrooms, both in taste and in practice. The festival takes place every August at the Mushroom Park, at the northern entrance of the city, and usually lasts four days, from morning until night. There, you can taste free fried mushrooms and other mushroom-based delicacies, browse along stalls with local products, attend mushroom-tasting seminars and truffle-hunting demonstrations, as well as woodcarving presentations. Concerts around the large festival bonfire warm up the crowds both literally and figuratively, while children have their own playground area where they can play and take part in enjoyable creative activities.
