Niaimeros, the great trade fair
Niaimeros is the major autumn trade fair of Kozani. Its name is reminiscent of the past, when people from across the region gathered to see goods from distant places, bargain for livestock, and witness spectacles that were extraordinary for their time, over the span of nine entire days. Today, Niaimeros is organized by the Municipality of Kozani and typically lasts four days. If you find yourself in the city in early October, you will have the opportunity to experience this festive event that combines tradition and entertainment. You will stroll among dozens of vendor stalls, shop for various goods, taste local delicacies from outdoor grills, and, if you are accompanied by children (or feel like one yourself), enjoy a ride at the amusement park.
