Museum of Silversmithing, Folklore and History – Nymfaio

Just one minute from Nymfaio’s central square, the House of Nymfaio has housed the Museum of Silversmithing, Folklore and History since 2000—a space that encapsulates the village’s identity and historical memory. The three-story traditional mansion itself is a faithful reflection of Nymfaio’s architecture, where stone, wood, and light narrate their own story. Inside, you shall wander among historical archives, traditional garments, household utensils, handicrafts, and tools—authentic objects detailing the daily life and culture of the community. Do not miss the extensive collection of tools and works of traditional silversmithing, one of the most comprehensive in Greece: jewelry, ecclesiastical vessels, wedding crowns, buckles, snuffboxes, and belts shine in their display cases, bearing witness to the craftsmanship of Nymfaio’s renowned silversmiths, whose art traveled as far as the Balkans and Central Europe.
