Monastery of Saint Anthony of Siapka

Located 10 kilometers from the settlement of Kastania and 18 kilometers from Servia, this monastery was founded in the 11th century and operated until the mid-18th century. According to tradition, Saint Anthony passed through the area, found refuge, and made the area his permanent residence until old age. The monastery stands out for its frescoes and intricately carved wooden iconostasis. Of particular interest is a room where individuals with mental disorders once resided, as it was then believed that staying near the sacred site would aid their healing. Every year on September 1st, a celebratory feast is held in honor of Saint Anthony.
