Lake Chimaditida

Lake Chimaditida, a hidden paradise at the foothills of Mount Vernon, captivates with its tranquil beauty and elongated shape. Together with Lakes Petron, Vegoritida, and its “twin” Lake Zazari, it is part of a unique hydrologically connected four-lake complex. Reed beds, marshes, wet meadows, and lakeside deciduous forests around it host over 150 bird species, many of which are protected and endangered. Chimaditida is the most important habitat in Greece for the rare ferruginous duck and pygmy cormorant, making it an ideal destination for birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts.
