Kastoria Costume Museum
Housed in the Emmanouil Brothers’ manor, in the picturesque Dolcho neighborhood, the Kastoria Costume Museum invites you to admire jewelry and authentic traditional costumes from all over Greece, with the luxurious Kastorian garments holding a special place among them. The building’s architecture itself immediately transports you to another era. On the first floor, traditional costumes from every corner of the country are exhibited, while on the second floor you can find local attire made from fine fabrics, featuring elaborate details and the characteristic fezzes, with a gold tassel for women and a black one for men. Particularly noteworthy is the rare collection of children’s and infant silk garments, a moving testimony to care, prosperity, and refined aesthetics. Visiting will leave you with a clear perception of how contact with Europe and the wider world shaped the sartorial culture of the city.
