Holy Monastery of the Holy Trinity in Vythos
Built at an altitude of 1,000 meters, 7 kilometers outside Vythos, the Monastery of the Holy Trinity (1792) retains its fortress-like form and impresses with its katholikon, a work by master builder Georgios Koustas. You will admire the frescoes painted in 1802 by the iconographer Michael from Chionades, as well as the gilded wood-carved iconostasis — all masterpieces of post-Byzantine art. The monastery celebrates the feast of the Holy Spirit, when large numbers of pilgrims gather for a unique festival of faith and tradition.
