Holy Church of Saints Anargyroi of Kozani

This is one of the oldest churches in Kozani, where you will have the opportunity to discover an important part of the city’s ecclesiastical history. The earliest evidence of the church’s existence dates back to 1612, while the current building was constructed in the early 19th century. In 1858, the chapel of Saint Barbara was added. Inside the church, you will witness significant relics, such as the historic icons of Saint John the Baptist, locally known as Timios Prodromos (1815), Saints Anargyroi (1804), and Archangel Michael (1855), as well as frescoes created between 1920 and 1923,and an old Gospel from 1762. In the courtyard, you will encounter a stone spring known as the “Water of the Saints Anargyroi”, which used to provide the entire neighborhood with drinking water in the past.
