Holy Church of Saint John Chrysostom in Paraskevi
In the center of the Paraskevi settlement stands the parish Church of Saint John Chrysostom, patron saint of the area and a landmark of the community. It is a newly built church, constructed in the style of a three-aisled basilica on the site of an older church destroyed by the 1995 earthquake. Inside, your gaze will be drawn to the carved wooden iconostasis and the icons preserved from the earlier church, harmoniously incorporated into the new building, thus gracing the building with an immense historical significance. If you find yourself here on November 13th, you will experience the great feast in honor of Saint John Chrysostom, with a festive vespers service and Divine Liturgy.
