Holy Church of Saint Demetrios

In the ruins of the old Gratsiani settlement stands the post-Byzantine Holy Church of Saint Demetrios. It is worth adding a stop to your itinerary, to admire its 17th-century frescoes, preserved on the eastern wall of the sanctuary, as well as the remains of painted decoration on the exterior southern wall, which most likely date to the 15th century. The Holy Church of Saint Demetrios is another small yet important piece of the post-Byzantine landscape of Velventos, worthy of exploring up close.
