Grevena Mushroom Carnival
From late February to early March, the city of Grevena moves to the rhythm of the Carnival, as it hosts numerous events highlighting creative tradition and Grevena’s festive spirit with songs, music, dances, celebrations and a whole lot of… mushrooms, the city’s trademark product. Local mushroom products, mushroom meze and the distinctive local dry wine “brousko” hold a central place in the Carnival celebrations, flavors you will taste at the mushroom feast organised by the Hellenic Mushroom Society in Emilianou Square. You will also attend parades, concerts and the lighting of the Fanos bonfire, as the scheduled activities unfold all throughout the city.
