Folklore Museum of Velventos
If you wish to get to know the history of the place through the lives of “commoners”, then the Folklore Museum of Velventos is your go-to place. It is housed in the restored “Kosta” mansion, an impressive building of Macedonian architecture dating from the 19th century. Its collections, created thanks to the valuable contributions of locals, will introduce you to the daily life of the inhabitants, traditional professions, local costumes and agricultural works of earlier times. The tour includes the family’s everyday room, the reception area of the mansion, as well as exhibits related to the secrets of the loom and traditional clothing. The presentation of eight thematic stories, which unfold through the exhibits and spaces of the Museum, is particularly interesting.
