Feast of Saint Panteleimon
A particularly special celebration in Vlasti takes place on July 27th, honoring Saint Panteleimon. The festivities begin the day before with the Vespers service, followed by the Divine Liturgy on the feast day at the Church of Saint Panteleimon, which overlooks the entire village. Many worshippers arrive on horseback, creating a most striking scene. After the service, the icon of the Saint is carried in a march through the streets of Vlasti, accompanied by riders and crowds of faithful, evoking a sense of older times. The celebration continues after 7:00 p.m. with cultural events in the village meadows, where the Tranos Dance takes place and traditional food and sweets are served.
