Ecclesiastical Museum of Siatista
Within the courtyard of the Metropolitan Hall, in the display cases of a bright exhibition space, specimens of art and religion spanning four centuries are being preserved. The Ecclesiastical Museum, operating under the auspices of the Holy Metropolis of Sisani and Siatista, features icons dating from the 16th to the 19th century, as well as woodcarvings, vestments, metalwork, books, and manuscripts from churches and monasteries of the region. Together, they trace Siatista’s connections with major artistic centers — from Constantinople and Venice to the Ionian Islands. Among the most notable exhibits are the Western-style Apocalypse by Theodoros Poulakis (17th century) and In Thee Rejoiceth (late 16th century), likely a work by Georgios Klontzas. A gospel cover printed in 1590 and ecclesiastical vestments with fine embroidery complete the collection, turning your visit into a journey through the religious, artistic, and intellectual history of Siatista.
