Dolgiras Mansion (Siatista)

Among the oldest and most atmospheric mansions in the city, built between 1700 and 1730. Its painted decoration was completed around 1840 by folk artists invited by its owner, Dimitrios Dolgiras, a prominent merchant originally from Constantinople. Following its renovation in 2003, the mansion was revived as a Folklore Museum under the care of the “Markides Pouliou” Cultural Association. Its rooms display objects of over 200 years of age—donations from Siatistans around the world—documenting a way of life that balanced local tradition with European influences. The building itself, featuring its wooden ceilings, heavy doors, and noble atmosphere, is a work of art and one of the city’s finest architectural gems. A spot where culture, history, and collective memory intertwine.
