Boubouna – Lechovo
In Lechovo, on the last Saturday of Carnival, the night is lit by the flame of Boubouna. A massive bonfire is ignited in the village square, reviving a custom that brings people together around light and shared joy. In the past, each neighborhood lit its own fire, whereas today, the entire village gathers around one single fire—the great Boubouna—which symbolically burns away winter to welcome spring. Music, singing, and dancing surround the fire, creating an atmosphere that blends carnival revelry with the timeless symbolism of renewal.
