BatuCalda
Did you expect to find the sole samba reggae and batucada percussion festival in Greece in Grevena? And yet, BatuCalda will sweep you away with its explosive rhythms. It is organized every summer in collaboration with local institutions and has now been established as one of the most dynamic musical experiences in the region, with bands participating from across Greece and Cyprus. During the festival days, more than 250 musicians perform together, unofficially renaming the city into “Rio Greveneiro”, according to their humorous slogan. The events take place in mid-June at central locations in the city, and special seminars are also organized for musicians who wish to explore the world of BatuCalda.
