Annitsa Memorial
If you visit the “Annitsa” hill on Mount Lygkos, at an impressive elevation of 1,728 meters, you will encounter the imposing Annitsa Memorial, dedicated to the officers and soldiers of the Grevena region who fell during the Greco-Italian War (1940–41). The monument complex, consisting of a central structure and marble plaques, was erected in 1982 by the Association of Wounded Soldiers of Grevena at the very site that served as the center of the Greek counteroffensive. Every first Sunday after August 15th, you can attend the memorial service held here in honor of the fallen heroes.
