Thracian Epilinia
The grape harvest and its traditions take center stage at the two-day Thracian Epilinia festival, organized every September at I. Christidis Park by the Thracian Association of Eordaia. The schedule includes talks on traditional viticulture in Eastern Thrace, the history of wine, and production techniques. You will also have the opportunity to experience grape harvesting and the traditional transfer of grapes to the wine press. The grape-stomping event—open to everyone—turns into a lively celebration, accompanied by music, dancing, must pudding (moustalevria), and, of course, excellent local wine.
