After all, science, tradition, and flavor come together in the Wine Lands of the Lakes — and that is not something you can easily forget.
The Region of Western Macedonia, in collaboration with the ANKO Western Macedonia S.A. – Organization for Local Development, Development Agency of Florina S.A., the Regional Development Fund, with the support of the Greek Wine Federation, invites you to a European Conference where wine meets science, tradition engages in dialogue with modern viticulture, and local grape varieties speak an international language.
The conference, titled “The Wine Lands of the Lakes: Wine – Place – People” will take place on June 27–29, 2025, in Amyntaio, Florina, bringing together scientists, viticulturists, oenologists, entrepreneurs, and wine enthusiasts for a multidimensional gathering of knowledge, strategy, and tasting experiences.
With presentations by leading researchers from Greece and abroad, as well as contributions from the rapidly emerging wine tourism sector of Western Macedonia, the conference aims to showcase contemporary international trends and position the region as a center for scientific dialogue on the future of viticulture in the era of climate change and sustainability.
Local grape varieties, altitude and lakes, a new generation of winemakers, and the relationship between wine and the tourism and cultural identity of Western Macedonia will be at the heart of the presentations and discussions.
