Holy Church of Saint Dimitrios of Aiani

Approximately 2 kilometers from Aiani, you will find the Byzantine church of Saint Dimitrios, dating to either the 11th or 13th century. Some of its frescoes belong to that period, while others date to the 15th and 16th centuries. The three-aisled basilica functioned as the katholikon of a male monastery, a fact confirmed by an inscription in the sanctuary listing the names of the monks.
