Poulkos Mansion (Siatista)

In the Gerania district stands the Poulkos Mansion, one of the finest and best-preserved examples of 18th-century Siatista architecture. It was founded in 1754 by Theodoros Emmanouilidis and completed in 1759, as evidenced by the rich painted decoration on its facade. The grand hall on the upper floor, with Venetian stained glass, projecting enclosed balconies (sachnisi), and vibrant frescoes, reflects the prosperity and refinement of Siatista’s merchants. The depiction of Constantinople stands out, while carved ceilings adorned with rosettes add to its overall splendor. Open to the public, the Poulkos Mansion remains a living testament to the city’s urban and artistic flourishing.
