Waterfalls in Mesolouri

A short distance from the centre of the traditional mountain settlement of Mesolouri, you have the opportunity to discover a particularly beautiful natural attraction: the village waterfalls. You will follow a short, well-maintained stone-paved path of approximately 600 meters —right next to the bridge— and, crossing a lush green landscape, you reach three successive waterfalls, measuring 3, 2.5 and 5 meters in height. Their waters fill natural cavities and form small natural pools, creating a setting that resembles a cinematic backdrop. The place is known as “Vyros tis Sterianas”, after the legend of a young woman who is said to have ended her life here, driven to despair due to an unfulfilled love. The environment of the waterfalls of high aesthetic and ecological value offers moments of tranquillity and opportunities for peaceful walks. If you are daring enough, you may even dive into their crystal-clear, icy waters. The Waterfalls are more than a point of interest; they are a symbol of the village and one of the most distinctive natural treasures of Grevena.
