Small Folklore Collections in Grevena

At the Cultural Centre of Grevena, you will encounter small folklore collections that open a window onto the daily life and occupations of the people of the region in past eras. The municipality’s folklore collection presents exhibits spanning more than two centuries, giving visitors the opportunity to discover a way of life that has now vanished. You will see everyday objects —from glass, clay, copper and brass utensils to knives, woven textiles and traditional costumes— as well as agricultural tools used in the past. Porcelain pieces, documents and personal belongings of the well-known Grevena family Bousios hold a special place, while an “urban room” example from the old town is displayed in an adjacent hall, immersing you even more deeply in these times. In a neighbouring room, you will also witness the work of the local artist Dimitrios Agorastis through twelve compositions that highlight a material inseparably linked to the region: wood. It is a stop that brings you closer to the culture of everyday life and the artistic tradition of Grevena.
