Holy Church of Saint Demetrios in Mesolouri
If you find yourself in the village of Mesolouri, visit the Holy Church of Saint Demetrios, a three-aisled timber-roofed basilica with a narthex and a semicircular apse in the sanctuary. At its south-west corner stands the bell tower, the work of folk sculptor Vrangas. The church has two entrances: one leading to the narthex and the other to the main nave. On the stone lintel above the entrance, you will see an inscription stating the year of construction as 1778. The church is fully decorated with wall paintings which, according to another inscription dated 1867, are the work of Adam Christou Kraia from Samarina.
