Papaterpou Mansion
Along the city’s lakeside promenade, it is impossible not to pause in front of the three-storey Papaterpou Mansion (1880). A proud representative of the third type of Kastorian mansions, it is the only survivor in what once was the Ottoman quarter of the city. Built by craftsmen from Nestorio, it originally served as the residence of the Turkish mullah Ibrahim, before it passed into the hands of the Papaterpou family after the city’s liberation.
