Tsiatsiapa Mansion

On the northern side of the city, in Apozari, stands the imposing Tsiatsiapa Mansion, built in 1754. It is the only surviving three-storey mansion with a rectangular layout and a prominent horizontal axis in Kastoria. With a stone-built ground floor, upper levels dominated by timber-framed construction, and balconies with views, it will captivate you with its elegant 18th-century interior decoration: wall paintings, woodcarvings, and designs that blend Byzantine tradition with Western European Baroque and Rococo influences, as well as hints of Oriental art as shaped in the imperial palaces of Constantinople.
