Lakes Arrenes
At an altitude of 1,730 meters, on the slopes of the limestone peaks of Arena, lies an impressive complex of two lakes known as Arrenes or Moutsalia (from the Vlach word “moutsali”, meaning “wet”, and “arena”, meaning “sandy place”). Their untouched landscape and rich biodiversity invite exploration of mountain nature and moments of relaxation in a unique setting, accessible either via a passable dirt road or by hiking from nearby Pefkofyto.
