Art and Culture Center “Antonis I. Petsas”
An important stop in Deskati is the permanent painting exhibition of the acclaimed visual artist Christos Bouronikos, who originates from the area but has lived and created art in Berlin for the past 44 years. Housed in the renovated stone building of the old elementary school, it constitutes the first permanent contemporary art collection within the Municipality. The exhibition includes 60 works, donated by the artist to his hometown, unexpectedly building bridges between the local community and contemporary European art. Here, you will have the opportunity to encounter the works of an internationally acclaimed artist who remains deeply connected to his homeland.
