Hermitage of the Transfiguration of the Savior
On the southern shore of Lake Megali Prespa, west of Psarades, set within a shallow cave above a small beach, lies the Hermitage of the Transfiguration of the Savior. This single-aisled chapel, dating to the 13th century, ranks among the most ancient examples of monastic life across the region. Despite the wear of time, traces of frescoes remain, bearing witness to its former decoration. Nestled between rock and water, the site offers a rare sense of serenity and sacredness.
