Church of the Presentation of Christ (Hypapante) in Lemos
On the outskirts of Lemos, the small, single-aisled, timber-roofed Church of the Presentation of Christ stands discreetly, a characteristic example of 16th-century ecclesiastical architecture. Built and frescoed back in 1591 by a local workshop, it impresses with its simplicity and grace. The depiction of the Virgin Platytera in the sanctuary, the depiction of the Melismos, the Akra Tapeinosis, and the figures of Saints Stephen, Athanasius, Symeon the Stylite, and Cyril are among its best-preserved wall paintings. It is undoubtedly worth a visit.
